I am not an employee of HP, I am a volunteer posting here on my own time.

Please read this post then provide some details. What printer model? What operating system?
The alignment will repeat if it is not successful. Read this thread or check your user manual for information on how to complete the alignment. Depending on your printer model you will need black and one or more colors to be working properly to compelte the alignment.

Here's how I turned off this annoying feature: I hit okay to print the alignment page. As soon as the "X" light comes on in red, I hit it. It then told me my alignment would be canceled and might mess up the print quality....but it also went to the main screen and I could print as normal.

Yes I agree, I have all-in-one Photosmart C4280 and I would like to disable the automatic alignment, because it's a waste of ink, and it does it every time I change catriages even if the alignment paper has been already printed. I found this option very abusing also because it delays me èprinting when I don't have time to sort useless things like the alignment that is pratically usless, so I am waiting forward to a patch for the software thank you..otherwise we might want to change make next time

A FEW DROPS OF INK? I recently threw a lexmark printer out of a 2 story window and bought my HP Photosmart 5510 just to have it fill my entire computer screen with alerts that have no close option to align, and i've already aligned my cartridges multiple times. People want to turn off this feature because it is wastful and broken, fix these issues or i'm buying a Canon printer and they can have the $8 million dollars per gallon you greedy companies charge for ink!
