how to set up hp officejet pro 8600 scan to computer mac os x 10.6.8

Thanks for the try.  There is no HP Scan Software on my computer.

I made the mistake before of trying to use HP software on my Mac.  It filled up my disk with spindump files.  It doesn't work and HP doesn't have an answer.

Strongly recommend against following your course of action.

ALL Apple users are cautioned against using 3rd party software NOT available from the Apple Store.

I tried your advice.  HP Device Manager ran my CPU 90% busy while filling my disk with spindump files.

Good luck.  If I cannot find someone to give this HP OJP 8600 away to I am going to junk it.  What a waste of my time.
