hp scan and capture cant find the device.

HP Recommended
hpcolor laser jet cp1215
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Installed hp scan and capture.  It cant detect the printer.  Update printer drive already.  Tried the Scan Doc.  Tried the HP assistant.

Error message is always:  Need the full set of driver software.  Dont know where to find full set.  Please help.

And can it scan multiple pages or only one page every time?  Thanks

Welcome to HP Support Forum.

 

1. Driver: This is an old printer, no full software for Windows 10. Please try Basic drivers from the following link

 

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-color-laserjet-cp1210-printer-series/3422474/mod...

 

 2. Scan multi pages: Please try HP Scan Extended using the following software

     ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, for Windows 10:

(a) Hit Win key,
(b) Scroll down to HP group/folder,
(c) Double click "HP Scan Extended"

  NOT working.  Download and install the Basic Driver two times.  Still cant detect the printer.   Maybe printer really too old. 

Any other suggestion?  

Or any idea on a basic scanner just for document scan occasionally at home use.

Hi,

 

Please don't use HP Scan and Capture app. Try other software as mentioned in #2 on my previous reply. If still no luck, it's time to buy a new printer.
