This is a tough one.  Let's get into the router settings and change the encryption to WPA - Personal and the encryption type to AES.  Keep the same passphrase.

Hi PrintDoc (Dean)

Afraid to tamper with those settings.  Last time I did that my daughter was not able to use her Mac to get online through the router.  Seems it is not compatible according to Belkin.

OK, how about changing it for the purposes of testing and getting to the bottom of the printer problem, then setting it back once we know....?

I have a HP laserjet 1102W that I have been using wirelessly with both my Mac (running 10.8 ) and a Windows computer running Vista.  2 days ago the printer quit working.  If I connect it with the USB cable it works fine but it will not work with any computer wirelessly.  I reset the wireless setting on the printer but when I try to connect to my 2wire router it can not find it.  What do I need to do?

2-wire routers are, well, not very good.  This may help: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03112838

Thanks for the link.  Resetting the router allowed me to see it using the HP wirless configuration for the printer.  This allowed me to connect it to the network.  I had to use my windows computer to do this but once it was on the network I could see it wireless from my mac mini.  I was able to print from it wirlessly so I appeared to be back in business.  I turned it off and upluged it to move it back where I use it normally.  For some reason after I plugged it back in and turned it on again I can not print from it wirlessly.  Is something getting reset when it looses power?

HP Recommended

It should retain its settings when removed from power, however, I have heard of some models losing their network settings.

Hello Print Doc, I have a very similar problem.  I have a HP Photosmart Plus Model B209a-m.  I was having problems with my Linksys Wireless router frequently disconnecting from my desktop computer. I replaced it with a new Western Digital My Net N750 Wireless Dual Band Router which operates on both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies.  I have read all your posts here and I changed my 2.4Ghz Channel to 11 and set the Security to WPA/WPA-2.  My printer does not see the WD Router except when I do a print out.  On the printer HP Network Configuration Page?  Network Status: Offline,  Active Connection Type: None,  URL http://0.0.0.0,   802.11 Wireless Status: Disconnected, Port 9100 Status: Enabled, mDNS Status: Enabled, SLP Status: Enabled, Microsoft Web Services WS Discovery Status: Enabled, WS Print Status: Enabled.  Number of 802.11 networks discovered: 1, Mode: Infrastructure, Channel: 11, Privacy: RSN, Auth: WPA-PSK, Encrypt: AES/TKIP, Signal: -40, WPS: Yes.  If I try to connect using WPS I either get an Error...progress stopped or timed out. Wireless Radio is ON, I've tried Resotre Factory Network Defaults several times, Turning the printer off several times, Turning the WD router off several times.

Great post, thanks!  Make sure your router has 802.11g mode enabled (along with 802.11n and others is fine, but 'g' must be present).  Also, make sure your network name (SSID) is being broadcast.

Thanks for the very quick response.  I meant to put the mode information in my original post. Sorry about that. Network Name (SSID): WesternDigital, Security Mode: WPA/WPA2 - Personal Network Mode: Mixed 802.11 b+g+n,   Channel Width: 20 MHz, Channel: 2.462 GHz - CH 11, SSID Broadcast: On, WMM QoS: On,

I ran the Wireless Network Test:  Your HP printer cannot find your access point.  Check that your access point is powered on.  Check that your HP printer network name (SSID) matches your access point network name (SSID) exactly.  If they don't match exactly, run the wireless network setup to configure your HP printer.

I have no clue how to change the HP printers network name (SSID).

Diagnostics Summary

Wireless On:                             PASS

Wireless Working:                     PASS

Network Name (SSID) Found:    FAIL

Security:                                    PASS

Connected:                                Not Run

Signal Strength:                        Not Run

Other networks detected matching your network name (SSID):   Not Run

Wireless Networks Detected:      1

Downlink count:                         359

Channel:                                    Not Run

Configuration Summary

Network Name (SSID):                hpsetup

Hardware Address (MAC):

IP Address:                                Not applicable

Configuration Source:                Not applicable

Communication Mode:               Adhoc

Authentication Type:                 Open System

Encryption                                 None

It's strange that the printer detects the Routers network name and other information when I print the HP Network Configuration Page but will not connect using WPS.

So my question is:  Should I temporarily change my Routers Network Name (SSID) from WesternDigital to hpsetup?  I guess I'll try that and see what happens.
