I updated the firmware but I still can not print from my iPhone 4 or iPad 2. Any other suggestions?

The whole network and all the devices on it may need to be power cycled.  To power cycle something is just to turn it off and back on.  Turn everything on the network off including the router, printer, and iOS devices.  Make sure that the iOS devices are turned completely off.  Turn the router back on, and let it become stable.  It should stabilize in a minute or two.  Once the router is stable, turn the printer, iOS devices, and any other devices that attach to the router back on.  Let me know what happens.

I downloaded the firmware update, but what application can I use to open it? I tried with Dropbox but I can't seem to open or run it after it downloads. Please help! Thank you.

No application is needed to open the firmware.  Here are the instructions I pulled from the "How to Install" tab from the firmware update page (link is for Windows 7 64-bit).  In other words, just click on the download at the bottom of the screen to extract it and the firmware pop-up window should automatically come up without a program needed to run it.

Firmware Update Instructions:
* Please use a 2 meter (6 foot) USB High speed (2.0) cable.
1. Download the firmware update utility file to your desktop. Double click on the file.
2. Select the printer(s) you want to update from the list.
3. Click on the "Update All" or "Update One" button in the dialog window.
4. Following the on-screen instruction to proceed the upgrade. During the printer firmware update, the printer's LEDs will begin flashing.
5. Do NOT power cycle the printer or the PC during this process, or the printer may become unstable and/or unusable without further attention from HP. The firmware update can take several minutes to complete. Please be patient.
6. To verify the update, a configuration page can be printed. The configuration page will display the current firmware revision in the product information section.

If this doesn't help you, what operating system is on your computer and what web browser are you using? I will be happy to help!

Thanks for your reply. I am trying to download it to my iPad. Does it have to be downloaded to a PC? The program doesn't open after I download it to my iPad as I don't seem to have a program to open it. It doesn't open automatically. Thanks for your help.

You're welcome. A firmware usually requires a USB connection or at least a stable one when trying to download it from the website. Unfortunately you are only going to be able to do a firmware update with a computer. This printer doesn't offer another way to do this. You need to determine if you have the latest firmware update by printing off the network configuration page. Page 29 of the User Guide gives you the instructions on how to print this off simply by pressing the cancel button until the ready light flashes and begins to print.

After this page prints, you can determine which version you have by looking under the section at the top called Product Information. I printed my page off and it says my current version is 20130213 (which is the most up-to-date one). I am afraid you would not want to do this on your iPad to risk dropping the connection. Interrupted firmware updates are known to completely break printers.

Do you have access to any kind of computer at all? I will gladly assist you with it if you can get to one.
