Thanks but I already tried that several times with no success. Did you install HP's update prior to the probem? I think my problem began after installing HP's firmware update. It seems that everyone that install hp defective update still has the problem.

This is unacceptable, firmware update breaks my printer and you want me to buy a new one for more than I paid for this one. This is the 2nd printer that HP has tried to pull this scam with me. Both printers were just out of warranty (imagine that) is this your business model, make stuff that breaks after it's right out of warranty then make the customer buy something else that will break. It's one thing if I break it or it just fails to work but when it's your firmware that does it you should be fixing the problem. This is the last HP product I will ever buy, fool me once, fool me twice....oh and 1 more thing find support people that can actually speak English it is near impossible to understand the steps they provide

Does HP plan to have anyone internal acknowledge this ticket or that a solution is being researched?

The tech I spoke to said it was a hardware issue and that these products can fail at anytime. I literally laughed at him and said I just used the printer then updated the firmware and it is stuck in an endless loop of initializing. Thats when they tried to sell me a more expensive printer. Like I said this is the second time they have tried to pulled this scam on me. Basically their products are bad and customer service is worse. HP won't acknowledge its their fault even though many people are reporting the same issue.

I handle many printers in the schools I work for they used to be mostly HP's , but the M1212 that when bad was replaced with a Brother. Not sure if I ever want another HP.

I'm going to end up getting another BRAND printer also this is the shame HP broke our printers and HP does not want to even talk to us and try to resolve the issue this is a real shame I would never ever buy another HP

HP is hopeless. They continue to refuse to correct what they broke. They are responsible for this problem because of their software rendering our printers completely useless.

Same problem, same perpetual initialization cycle.  Starting the printer with cancel and copy pressed did nothing.

The machine is out of warranty, and I remain deeply disappointed with the customer satisfaction and support respond from HP.
