Hello forum...I have an Office jet Pro 8600 Premium and its connected to my home network. I have no problems printing from my Mac Pro or my iphone to the device, but when I attempt to scan from the printer to my computer, it says "no computer found". I go to the HP Utility and select Scan to Computer and Enable Scan to Computer...but it responds "Communication Error...unable to connect with device..."
I have always been able to do so but now it does not work?
I have tried restarting the devices and checked for new firmware (its current).
can somone help with this...thank you !

HP Printers - 'HP Scan Quit Unexpectedly' (OS X v10.11)
NOTE:If you want to manually download a driver for OS X 10.8 or 10.9, go to HP Printer Drivers for OS X Mountain Lion or Lion (in English) on the Apple support site.
- If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, then select a method to identify your printer model, if prompted.
- Under Driver-Product Installation Software, do the following depending on what displays.
- If 'Installing a Mac Printer Driver Using Apple Software Update' displays, your driver is only available through the Apple Software Update feature on the Mac. Click Learn more for steps to install the driver, then try scanning with HP Easy Scan or Image Capture.
- If HP Easy Start or a full feature software and driver displays, click Download, then continue to the next step.
- Open the Downloads folder on the Mac dock. Depending on the option you chose, click the HP Easy Start file or the .dmg file for the full-feature driver to begin the installation.
- When prompted by the installer to add the printer on the Enable Printing screen, click Add Printer. The Add window opens.
- Click the name of your printer in the Printers list.
- Click the Use menu, select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu, and then click Add.Figure : The Use pop-up menu on the Add screen
- Continue with the on-screen instructions to finish the installation.
- Try scanning with one of the methods in this document.
