I purchased all new ink cartridges for my hp 7520 yesterday and installed them. I have 2 problems. First, the photos are printing too black. It appears to be an issue wit the black photo ink. Normally brown hair looks jet black. The entire photo has too much black in it. Second, I have printed 3 4x6 photos with the new cartridges and my printer indicates that it is almost out of ink! How can this be? Did I really just pay $60 for new cartridges, only to print out 4 or 5 photos?

For what it's worth, I just experienced the same proble. I have spent over 350.00 on ink in my photo printer to print just text. After a lenghty discussion with HP they offered to send me ink cartridges. Desperate to finish my work, I just purchased another set while waiting. When I installed the new cartridges and checked the ink levels they were just over 1/2 on all of the colors. Black and photo were showing as full.
I have the 7525 photo-printer. Clearly there they are forcing a supply and demand situaiton, by producing products that require colors to print blacks and then not filling the cartridges to the full extent. Although they may reduce the price of the printer, the money you will spend in ink makes it more expensive then purchasing even one of the most expensive printers.
I have been a HP user for a number of years and have had both computers, laptops and several printers. I think it may be time to try another brand. I personally will be looking for a brand that has reliability and efficiency in both costs of ink and number of pages.
Very Disatisfied

I bought one like that too. I havd a Photosmart 7520 printer and all the inks except black showed completely full when I installed the new package of inks. The black cartridge looked to be only about 3/4 full, if the readout is accurate.
We sure can see how much is in those cartridges, can we?
It would help if the packaging was transparent so we could see how much ink exists in the cartridge instead of relying on a possibly faulty digital measure -- unless the obvious intention is to mislead us.
The ink is the most costly aspect of a printer. If they want us to buy their cartridges, it would help if they filled them up properly, and allowed us to see how full they actually are when we buy them.
