I select the photo to print and software kicks off allowing me to select to Print the photo. Then I select the paper size of 4 x 4 in, the print quality, paper type, 'full page photo' for layout, and 'fit picture to frame'. The display shows how it is going to print offset and not a full photo size, and is actually printing 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" on a 4" by 6" photo sheet and skewed to the left. Unselecting 'fit picture to frame' does not help. What can I do to make the photo fill out the 4" x 6" photo sheet?

Hi @elf2,
I would be happy to help you select the 4x6 paper size to print photos. I checked the printer's specifications and can see 4x6 and 4x6 in (tab) are both supported paper sizes. Are you using the correct driver? Perhaps you do not see the option for 4x6 because you are using an alternate driver.
Please tun the HP Print and Scan Doctor as it might help. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning, and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues: Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings: Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print: Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests: Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mark are both in a green circle.
If you see only green check marks (
), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (
), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (
), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (
), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
If on the other hand this resolves the issue, please click the Accept as Solution button below to identify your post as solved.
If the issue persists let me know what program you are printing from and also please try printing from an alternate program and let me know the results. Thanks.

I messed up in typing my message, when I said '4 x 4'...I actually selected 4 x 6 and loaded 4 x 6 paper. The display before you say to print it, shows the picture offset to the left of the 4 x 6 area representing the photo paper...so it looks like my printer does not have the capablility to do a 'full bleed' possibly...any ideas?

Hi @elf2,
Hope you enjoyed your holidays and brought in the new year with a bang! I did some checking and the Envy 4500 does support 4x6, with and without tab. WIth tab is generally used for borderless printing, I wonder if the printer will not print borderless with non tabbed paper. Another thing to consider is the program you are using.
I suggest HP Photo Creations by @RocketLife . You can download and install HP Photo Creations here.
Once you have installed the program, or if you already have it, open it up and follow the instructions below;
1. Click on the Prints option along the top
2. Scroll down to Multi-up Prints and select Grid- Multi-up Prints
3. Click on Personalize and Print
4. Along the top you are given the option to Choose Size, please make choose the appropriate paper size
5. Under the Advance Print options, select the following settings:
6. You are also able to change the number of photos you would like per sheet. If you only want 1 copy of the photo, under Copies change that to 1.
7. Make sure you also choose borderless, if you want the print to go right to the edge of the paper.
8. Now you can go ahead and select Print (Remember under the printer setting to select the proper tray)
To learn more about HP Photo Creations and what it can do, here is a short video;
Please let me know if this helps. Thanks.
