HP Recommended

Focussing on the solution here....  The issue is caused by the paper feeding to the underside of the ADF (auto doc feeder); it  slides along the surface of the smaller scan bed window and catches on an unnoticable ridge in the glass.   The fix HP provides is to stick a thin piece of tranparent plastic over the smaller scan window.   I grabbed a page protector from an old folder I had laying around, and cut about 1 1/2 Inches off the top.  Then taped it over the small scan window.  Done.
