HP LaserJet P1102w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased the 1102w printer in order to print greeting cards on colored cardstock.  The description of the

printer says it will print on cardstock.  My printer will only print on plain old Xerox paper.  How do I

get this printer to print on colored cardstock?

The max weight of the media can only be 43lb which is about twice the weight of regular paper.  If the cardstock you are uisng is over 43lb then it will not work in the printer.

43lb. is totally incorrect.  an HP tech walked me through the printing this morning and I am now printing 110 lb. paper (which the ad says it will print) both colored paper and white paper.  It is done on the heavyweight setting, manual feed,

8 1/2 x 11.

I was just quoting the specs put out by HP.

The only reason I pursued this question is because HP's listing on their website clearly states it will print on cardstock.

That's the only reason I bought this particular printer is because I need a laser-printed base on cardstock to make foiled greeting cards.  I take the cardstock after I laser print it, place colored foil on top of the printing, put it in a plastic sleeve and then run it through a laminator.  The results are fantastic.  Couldn't do it without a printer that prints on cardstock.

The next step would be to get a printer that prints on chipboard, but right now I will quit while I'm ahead.  Thanks for  your help.

How did you managed to get your p1102w to print onto cardstock??

Did you find an answer yet?  I am also having trouble...

I called a tech at HP and he had me change the settings in the printer.....be sure to select HEAVY paper.

It was fairly simple once I changed the settings to accomodate the paper.
