printer wont copy says copy does not support statement

 For better clarity and to assist you better, I would require more information regarding this:

  • What is the exact error message?
  • Have you tried to make copies directly from the printer to isolate the issue to not being hardware related?

Please perform a hard reset of the printer first by trying these steps:

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer. If your printer has a network or wireless connection, leave it connected.
  4. Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
  5. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
  6. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  7. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.

  1. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  2. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

  1. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
  2. Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.
  3. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
  4. If you disconnected the USB cable, reconnect it to the rear of the printer.

 

 

Try to copy both from the flatbed and ADF.

 

If it does not copy then the issue is hardware related and you will need to contact HP phone support to get the unit serviced or replaced.

Steps to copy:

  • Please try to make a few copies directly from the printer without any intervention from the computer. Please place the required document face down on the flatbed scanner and touch the copy button. If it copies fine, then the issue could be software related.
  • Try to copy again after changing cartridges. If it fails to copy Please contact HP phone support to get the printer serviced or replaced as it is a hardware issue with the printer.

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number, Case number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately. If the unit is under warranty repair services is taken care of by the manufacturer’s warranty

 

If it copies fine then please try to scan again and if there are any issues, I will send you a private message to perform a semi full reset to factory settings.Please keep looking for private messages on HP forums.
