I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 printer. The above subject - 'printhead appears to be missing, not-detected, or incorrectly installed' displays on my printer screen. What do I do?

My printer was working perfectly and then I got this random missing Printerhead - not detected message. I have tried the suggested methods for fixing but still not working. The black was running low - so replaced it but still no good. The cost of a new Printerhead is close to a new printer - and I love my printer. Everything in printer seems to be working. Do I need a new Printerhead???

I have gone through the cleaning and reseeding, still not working. My question is, before I invest in a replacement, will that actually fix the problem or is the issue on the printer side?

I have an OfficeJet 8630 - anyone notice the "printhead Missing" coming up on a lot of printers just recently?  Can this be a Windows Update issue?  I just updated Windows within the last week and all of a sudden got this message today.  Why are the messages coming up all of a sudden? I'm on Windows 11

My printer (HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One was working fine...printed a page.  A few minutes later I went to print another page and received the Printhead is missing error message.  I attempted the steps above and am still having the issue.  I realize my printer is old and out of warranty but up until this, it has been working great.  I just bought new ink cartridges so hate to just waste them for a new printer.

 

Any suggestions?
