How do I print  5 x 7 or 7 x 5 greeting cards from 10 x 7 or 7 x 10 half fold card stock.  I've created and named the card stock but can't access it or se it in the print set up menu.   Same for printing old 3.5 square photos or 3.5 x 5 photos on 3.5 x 5 precut photo sheets.  Using Windows 7 and Printshop 2.3.

Hi @Toycon,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are wondering how to printi 5 x 7 or 7 x 5 greeting cards from 10 x 7 or 10 x 7 half fold card stock. I am happy to look into this issue for you!

For further assistance, I will need to know:

  1. The Product/Model Number of your printer. (eg. HP Officejet 6700, etc.) Follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
  2. If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
  3. If the printer is able to make copies with the card stock.
  4. If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.

Once I know more information, I will do some further research for you!

Thank you for responding.  I am having multiple issues that are all related and you might also be able to help me with.  First, regarding the info you requested:  I am using a HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N), it is connected and set up for wireless ethernet BUT I also have it plugged into a USB because otherwise it won't scan (manufacturer error or fault).  I can make copie with the 8.5 x 11 cardstock (but haven't tried anything with the new 7 x 10 cardstock) and the power cord is plugged into a power strip.  In fooling around trying to use the 7 x 10 cardstock (instructions were provided by another HP support rep); I messed up a setting either on the printer or in the Broderbund PrintMaster 23.0 program so ALL the cards previously created and all new cards created do not line up properly.  In creating the card (on 8.5 x 11 cardstock), the finished card looks perfect.  When I go to print it, it is off center, lined up wrong, condensed, upside down, print preview shows everything on one page (like a quarter fold card); it is all messed up.  I am asking Broaderbun how to fix this or should I reinstall the software? Anyways, regarding the printer, I would like to learn how to change the paper size as I also want to print photographs on precut sheets of 3.5 x 5 photo paper and also on 3.5 x 3.5 (on same paper...will cut down).

Hi Toycon,

According to your printer's specifications, the card stock paper sizes that you mentioned (7x10, 3.5x5, and 8.5x11), are unsupported by this printer.

The supported card stock paper sizes are the following:

Paper type
Paper size
Tray 1
Tray 2
Index card
76 x 127 mm (3.0 x 5.0 inches)

Index card
101 x 152 mm (4.0 x 6.0 inches)

Index card
127 x 203 mm (5.0 x 8.0 inches)

A6 card
105 x 148 mm (4.1 x 5.8 inches)

Borderless A6
105 x 148 mm (4.1 x 5.8 inches)

A4 index card
210 x 297 mm (8.3 x 11.7 inches)

Hagaki**
100 x 148 mm (3.9 x 5.8 inches)**

Borderless Hagaki**
100 x 148 mm (3.9 x 5.8 inches)

Hagaki**
200 x 148 mm (7.8 x 5.8 inches)

Index Card Letter

This could explain why you are having these multiple issues.

As a possible workaround, I would recommend to try and assign an alternate driver. By following the instructions in this post, How to Assign Alternate Print Drivers in Different Versions of Windows, by @Shane_R. After, the alternate driver is installed, then you should be able to do a create a custom paper size.
