My old HP Photo Smart P1000. Won't power up.  I went through the steps to reset it to no avail. It's dead and will cost more to fix than it's worth.  How do I get the fairly new ink cartridges out of it?

Hello emnc,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

Regarding the P1000 printer that you are unable to access the print cartridges, I am not sure of a way to remove them. You could try using the carriage jam support page to learn how to manually move the carriage.

'Stalled Carriage' or 'Print Cartridge Cradle is Stuck' Error Message Displays on the Control Panel

Honest opinion, it is not worth it. Even if you are able to get the inks out of the printer there are no current models of HP Printers that use those inks.

Under Compatible printers you will be able to see the list, HP 45 Black Original Ink Cartridge.

Best of luck.
