I can't replace the dulex cover or paper guide cover on my Envy 5530.  i was clearing a paper jam and had to remove both, and another piece came out - a white piece with wide rectangular teeth.  I can't seem to find a way to replace them.  The manual does not describe this.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

Well, I found the following:

A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One and Deskjet Ink Advantage 4510 e-All-i...

I think this is covered in steps 9-11

It appears to be a matter of even pressure at the right place at the right time and the cover magically clicks into place.

You can call HP for help.  Phone help might seem a bit far fetched for a stuck cover plate, but it might be helpful to have a tech on the line.

I am having the same problem. My warrantee ended 7/15. How can I get help? I can't use my 5035 printer unless I can get both parts in. This was caused by a paper jam which happens often. Now I can't get the two parts back in. Please! Can someone help me? I'm lost without a printer. One is the duplexer path cover.

  1. Where does this go? I put the the duplex cover in  after clearing the paper jam. Left with this. I am inserting a snapshot.IMG_20160430_193418.jpg

Hi @JoColl,

Thanks for showing your interest in the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you would like to know how to re-attach a part that got dislodged from a bad paper jam. I would be happy to look into this with you. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

We have the HP Envy 5530 Printer in the lab here and that part is not customer removable, this would indicate that it broke off. If you have a broken part, I recommend that you contact HP. HP may offer you a discount on a trade-in on a replacement unit.

Thanks so much for responding. The printer kept paper jamming. For no reason. I had to keep trying to get the papers out. Now I wish I hadnt but I was so frustrated. Now the printer is broken for good. I don't know if I can do all you suggested. I'm caring for a very ill husband. If I can find time I'll try to. I also have a very bad back. I'm unable to lift the All In One HP out to find the serial #.  It's down low on a shelf. I don't know what to do now. I believe the warrantee expired. I purchased it 2 years ago. I am lost without a printer. Thanks again.

Hi @JoColl,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm sorry to hear that your husband is unwell. I hope things start to turn around for you and your family. My thoughts are with you. 🙂

As for the printer, please contact HP at your earliest convenience.

I contacted the corporate office. I received a phone call. No solution. Just to check out this forum. I can't take it for repair. Too heavy for me. I wish I had a parts list showing where that white plastic piece goes. I keep removing the dupex roller part and putting it back in but no matter what I do the paper cover part won't snap in. The one with the two glides you pinch to open. Thanks for your kind words about my husband.

Please. All I want to know is where this part goes. Where can I get a scmatic showing parts of my Envy All In One 5535? I'm sure I can put it back in if I knew where it goes.  It would cost me more to get it repaired then to buy a new printer. My home was recently robbed. I lost many electronics. HP Laptop. 2 tablets. 2 digital cameras. I can't afford to buy a new printer. I need to put it back together myself. I need a printer. I'm lost without mine. Thanks.

After weeks and MANY long hours I was able to replace the parts. Now I càn print. Never was able to find where the one white plastic part goes but the two major parts I installed and it's printing.
