Hi,
I am trying to setup a new outgoing email profile to use for scanning on my HP 8600 using a gmail account.
I keep getting "Incorrect credentials" when I test the setup (my credentials are correct). I've tried different ports and turning the "SMTP server requires authentication for outgoing e-mail messages" on and off. Still the same error.
Help!

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand you are having issues setting up Scan to Email, I have a suggestion that may be helpful to you. Gmail as a Two-step Verification within their Email settings that helps secure your account. Try disabling this, if enabled, and see if it allows you to then setup Scan to Email.
- Log into your Gmail Email account.
- Click Email or icon in right corner and then Account.
- Click Security.
- Under Account permissions> Access for less secure apps, click Settings.
- Enable it and click Done.
- Re-run the Scan to Email setup.

I checked my gmail account and the 2 verification was not enabled but am still having the problem wtih "incorrect credentials" when I try to test my scan to email. I also set another users email account up and it went through fine, but mine still gives an error.

Hi DSchlichte,
Are you too using the Officejet Pro 8600? If so, let me know the specific model of printer in that series. Also, what is the Email that will work without issue?
