I have an OfficeJet 8600 and have been using it to scan to a network folder (on my iMac) for several years.

Having just upgraded the iMac to Yosemite, it no longer works.

If I open the printer config webpage and go to the network folder page my existing folder config is there.

If I click test I get an error message "Incorrect credentials" and I get a similar message from the printer itself when I try and do a scan.

I've tried setting the folder up from scratch - and the problem is the same.

My iMac has the same IP address (as does the printer) that it did prior to the upgrade.

My users and sharing setup on the iMac is the same as before (it was all preserved through the upgrade from Mavericks to Yosemite).

I've used another Mac on my network to test the folder connection - and that conects fine (using the same userid and password that is configured on the target iMac and in the network folder setup pgae of the printer).

I guess Apple have changed the way you connect to a folder on a Mac from Mavericks.  I can't find anything on the web about this.

Have any others come across this issue since upgrading to Yosemite - and any ideas what to do about it?

I'm having the same issue. After I upgraded to Yosemite (OS X 10.10), the scan to shared folder stopped working in my HP 8600 and HP 276dw (similar interface). I've tried all kinds of configuration permutations, but it doesn't work. The only change was really the upgrade of operating system, it seems SAMBA authentication was changed in some way.

Any suggestions on how to solve this?

Thanks,

Miguel.

Выяснили, что в новой Йосимити обновили SMB до весрии 3. Принтер, скорее всего, поддерживает SMB3.

Или HP обновит прошивку принтера или Эпл, что-то сделает)))

Found that in new Yosemite updated SMB to wesii 3. The printer will likely support SMB3.
Or HP will update the printer firmware or EPL, do something)))

Add me to the list. Very annoying. I'm using a USB thumb drive as a workaround.

Brother - you are not alone.  I have confirmed via multiple tests that it is the SMB3 implementation in Yosemite that is the issue, and the printer is not up to the task.

My 8630 cannot current scan to folder of any share via Yosemite.  Mavericks works fine by the way.

CMON HP, LETS FIX THIS!  THIS IS ONE OF THOSE SIMPLE ONES....

Add me to the list. Please fix.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one. But bummed that this is changed. The thumb drive is a work around, but not ideal for all the custom jobs that I've made. :Crying:

Anyone at HP who may be listening, any chance that there will be a firmware upgrade to fix this in the future??

Thanks
