Well, to be clear and fully transparent, HP is not the one that said 30 days....I am estimating based upon what I think the reality is of coding the update to the firmware, testing, getting it approved, and staged to their servers. I am 1000% just making a guess based upon what my experience with business and how they can make something slow. ; )
I am hoping for better, but after 30 days and no update, I feel I am justified in calling them back and raising hell. : )

Gotcha!!!! Thx for clarifying, although to be as transparent, HP gets nothing done in <30 days accept taking someones money or reading from a script in technical support... so there's that. 😉
No offense HP.... but, in all honesty, you've had the developer code for Yosemite, multiple beta releases on this OS for over a year, and this printer is going on 18 mos old. You KNEW this was coming and would be an issue long before we, as customers, made it an issue in this forum. I'm not sure why you are suddenly surprised by us making this an issue... Great printer, but really?

Over my head, but i'm glad smarter people than me are working this with HP.
What a frustration. I hope critical mass is achieved soon and an HP fix comes through.
Meanwhile, thumb drive and sneaker network.
Thanks for sharing your insight

If we were really smarter, we would be able to fix this ourselves. : ) I agree, this just needs some constant attention and some recognition by HP that this feature needs to work. Knowing that their exec-escalation group is aware of the issue does give me some comfort and a reasonable expectation that this will indeed be fixed.

Just retired my almost new officejet 8500 for the new 8610, because of a problem in the black/yellow print head.
Naively I expected that this problem with the scan to network folder on Mac OS X 10.10 would be fixed by now in a new product like this.
Any news?
