Hi

I just run the software for HP Deskjet 1050 on Windows 8.1 but it is not woked

It has been a few months ago and has not been fixed yet

I have also run the compability troubleshooter but it says as follows:

Settings applied to HP Deskjet 1050 J410 Series:

Windows Compability mode Windows 7

and I feel surprised since in the software property it says windows 8 not windows 7

Below is the screenshot of the result of compability testing:

and below is the screenshot of the property:

as you know that I downloaded it twice and stay the same as above

Hope for your help

Hi,

Is your Windows 8.1 32-bit or 64-bit?  Did you check if you had downloaded the correct package from hp.com?

yes on Windows 8.1

I download it from this link

but it can not be opened since a couple of days ago

how about yours

what is the result of compability testing in your behalf?

Hi,

I have tested both Win8.1 32-bit and 64-bit and they seem to be working.  Can you check again whether your Windows 8.1 is 32-bit or 64-bit?

If you are running 64-bit Win8.1, you need to download a different package.

Hi,

I am an HP employee participating in the Expert Day.

Indeed, your system is running 32-bit Win8.1 and you have got the correct download.  Can you describe your problem in more detail?

- Are you able to launch the setup application?

- Are you able to complete the installation?

- Do you see the printer icon in Control Panel - Devices and Printers?

- Was there an application crash?  If so, do you know which executable?

Hi,

Sorry, I still don't quite understand.  If everything is working smoothly, why do you need to set compatibility mode?  Can you tell me what exactly is not working?  Thanks.

hi

yes all go smoothly except opening the software

the software wont run and opened as desired

thus I try to run troubleshooter to fix this issue and I must pass the compability mode testing and it says windows 7 not windows 8.1

hope for your further help
