trouble installing shared printer on windows 7 64 bit

Thank you very much for your help.  I'm downloading the driver now.  I won't know if it 'works' until I connect my printer and complete the 'installation'.  My printer is at another location.  Will try that later this week.

Managed to download the software but when I connect the printer with the USB cable there is no response.  What next?

I'm sorry to hear that you've run into a problem with the installation.  I have included 2 different documents for you.  The first one is about using HP's Printer Install Wizard to install the printer onto your computer. The Printer Install Wizard will search for the best driver for your computer and printer.  The second one is detailed steps on installing the driver without using HP's Printer Install Wizard and you've downloaded the software from HP.com.

I have read through and tried all This, I Think.

I have a laserjet 1300 printer connected to a windows 7 64 Bit pc, which is working fine. I have a laptop which had windows vista 32 bit installed that used to share this printer with no problem.

I have now installed windows 7 32 bit to this laptop due to vista crashing and can no longer connect to the printer.

Can anybody give me a step by step method to resolve this please?
