In regards to the scan issue that we have been working on, due to this issue affecting both your original printer and now this HP Officejet Pro 8615 e-All-in-One Printer, I would have to recommend installing the printer on another computer to prove scan functionality.

 

I just wanted to see if the HP Print and Scan Doctor responded any differently after running the various troubleshooting steps we have previously went through.

 

Should the HP Officejet respond fine for scanning on another computer I would recommend contacting the manufacturer of your computer and having them take a look at the scanning services to correct any issues that are beyond the HP Printer.

 

Perhaps, fish4life may have a further suggestion at this point. On the technical support side of things, we have exhausted our in scope support options.

Tried all the steps in the help message from HP technician. Nothing is greyed out in Paint, but just spins. No scan happens. Like user above, scans work fine for a  while, then stop. seems to be intermittent issue. Please explain why scanning stops working on this HP. Thinking of asking for refund.

Thanks for your offer to help.

 

After 2 hours, I got scanning to work again by stumbling upon the Microsoft options for setting up a home network. Somehow, when I finished setting up the home network, again, it all started working fine. Mind you, I only did this to fix the printer settings. I can answer all the particulars you asked for, but I honestly think this has something to do with the printer not storing or remembering how to find the network after a power down.

 

The error messages seem to support this conclusion but HPdefinitely needs to provide more help in the error messages.

 

Anyway, the printer is an HP OfficeJet 8610. Copying and Printing were still working fine while I experienced the issue. The issue occurs whether plugged into the router via Ethernet cable or wireless. First time the problem occurred was on my Windows 7 pc, but it continued to occur intermittently on my new laptop which originally was Windows 8, then I upgraded to Windows 10. So I've had the issue with 3 versions of windows.

 

The error messages says that you should check to ensure that the scanning feature/service is activated, but, after working many hours with a technician on the phone a few months ago, I realized that the message only refers to HP eScan service. I only want to scan to home devices. Other than that, all other messages refer to an inability to identify the network.

 

HP needs to provide more accurate assistance with the error messages and to more clearly distinguish between the use of printer scanning and internet service scanning.

I have an HP OfficeJet 7500A Wide Format All-in-One. It worked beautifully on all points until Windows 10. I can scan one sheet at a time to just about any type of graphic format. However, if I want to scan a multi-paged document, it just won't work. I've tried several different solutions that have been suggested but nothing seems to work. HP evidently doesn't offer support on this printer anymore or at least none that I can find.

I have an HP OfficeJet 7500A Wide Format  All-in-One printer/scanner/copier/fax that worked beautifully until Windows 10. My issue is primarily with scanning. I can scan one photo or page at a time and save it in just about any graphic format; however, I cannot scan a multi-paged document. I love this printer and am dissapointed that HP doesn't offer any support for this printer. I've had HP printers since 1980 and am feeling a bit disgruntled!!
