This great grandma needs help. This morning TWC installed a new router, was able to get on line. He left -
now I find my printer wifi is blinking and will not print. It printed fine before he was here, just couldn't get on
line. I phoned TWC to ask for help in getting the new router operating. Was told that is not the job for TWC and they could send a tech here but I would have to pay. I am a widow, 76 years old on Social Security, I can't
afford to pay them to send someone and I feel that the printer worked before he installed the router and now
it doesn't .........any suggested would be a great help, thank you.

Hi @Norsemen
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you are having a connection issue with your Envy 4500. I would like to help.
Here is the situation. The old router created a wireless network. It allowed the computer to talk to the printer. While the printer was on that network the blue wireless light was solid. Indicating that the printer was connected to the network. Now you have a new router which creating a new network. The blue light on the printer is now blinking because the wireless radio is on but the printer is not connected to the network. You just need to get that little Envy on to the new network.
This document should help. HP ENVY 4500, HP Deskjet 3540 Printers - Wireless Printer Setup (Windows).
Now, the document says to download the drivers, but you should already have those on your computer. There should be a Printer Assistant also installed on the computer. If you search for Envy 4500 with the windows search bar, it should pop up.
With the printer assistant open click on the Utilities tab. You should now see an Update IP Address. Use this tool to have the computer look for the printers current IP address. You can double check the printers IP address by touching the button beside the blue light, which after the steps in the provided link, should be solid. 🙂
Let me know if those steps worked for you. If they did, that’s awesome! Give us some reinforcement by hitting the solution and kudos buttons, that’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
