wireless printing

please help. i can't print from my iphone 7 to my hp deskjet 2540 printer. it is asking for password. i'm trying to use wifi or wireless printing

I understand that when you try to print from your iPhone it is prompting you to enter a password. 

Not to worry, I will be glad to help. 

There are several methods to print from mobile devices, may I know the procedure you are following to print? Click here to know about the mobile printing solutions available. 

Are you able to print from your computer?

Are you able to make a copy on your computer?

If you are using Wifi direct to print from your iPhone, please print a wireless configuration report on your printer. 

The report will have the password for wireless direct printing. 

To print the wireless configuration report, press the Wireless button and the Start Copy Black button from the printer control panel at the same time.
