The error 83C0000B has been observed on certain HP OfficeJet Pro 8010e, 9020e, 9022e, and 9025e printers following a recent firmware update aimed at improving functionality.

This error causes the printer to display an error on a blue screen and become unresponsive.

Step 1: Ensure the Printer is Connected to the Internet

  • Verify that your printer is connected to a stable internet connection, either through a wired or wireless setup. This is essential for downloading the latest firmware.

Step 2: Check for Firmware Updates

  • Go to the printer's control panel.
  • Select the Setup menu.
  • Navigate to Printer Maintenance.
  • Choose Update Printer.
  • If updates are available, follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.

Step 3: Restart the Printer and the Computer

  • Sometimes, restarting the printer and your computer can resolve minor connectivity issues.
  • Please turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart your computer as well.

Step 4: Use the HP App for Updates

  • Download and install the HP App on your computer or mobile device.
  • Use the app to manage your printer and check for firmware updates.

Step 5: Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer on.

Step 6: Clear Print Queue and Restart

  • Sometimes, a heavy print queue can interfere with updates.
  • Cancel all existing print jobs from the control panel or your computer.
  • Restart the printer and check again for firmware updates.
