Issue
After upgrading to Windows 11 25H2 (Build 26200.8xxx), some HP printers connected by USB may be unable to print. This issue can occur on printers that are using an existing HP Print Support Application (PSA) driver.

Recommended Resolution

Reinstall the Printer Driver Using HP Easy Start Offline

  1. In Windows, search for and open Printer & scanners.
  2. Select your printer, and then click Remove.
  3. Go to https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
  4. Enter your printer model and locate the Installation Software and Full/Basic Driver section.
  5. Download HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software – Offline Use Only.Riddle_Decipher_0-1783099689282.png
  6. Open the downloaded file.
  7. When prompted, select “Continue with current software”.

  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer using a USB connection.
  9. After the installation is complete, verify that the printer appears in Printers & scanners.
  10. Print a test page to confirm that printing is working correctly.

Alternatively, if your printer supports Wi‑Fi, you can add it to Windows using its network address.

Connect the Printer to Your Wi‑Fi Network

  1. Ensure the printer and computer are connected to the same Wi‑Fi network.
  2. On the printer control panel, select Menu > Info > Connectivity.
  3. Turn Wi‑Fi on.
  4. Select Wi‑Fi Setup.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to choose your Wi‑Fi network and enter the password.

Add the Printer in Windows

  1. In Windows, search for and open Printers & scanners.
  2. Click Add device.
  3. If the printer is not found, select Add a new device manually.
  4. Select Add a printer using an IP address or hostname, and then click Next.
  5. Enter the printer's IP address or hostname.

Note: The device type is typically set to IPP Device by default.

  1. Click Next and wait for Windows to install the printer driver.
  2. Click Finish when the installation is complete.

The printer should now appear in Printers & scanners and be ready to print.
