- Duplex printing option missing.
If you have a duplex capable printer that does not give you the option to duplex when you go to print.
One thing to check is that the driver is configured properly. On your computer, go to control panel>devices and printers and then right click on the icon for your printer. Select "printer properties" from the drop down menu. Click on the advanced tab and ensure that you have an HP driver installed not a "Class or IPP driver" installed. If you do not have an HP driver listed, delete the printer and start over. If it is an HP driver, next click on the device settings tab. Scroll down and make sure that under installable options it shows that the duplex is installed. Changed to installed if it is not.

I could find my Windows 10 equivalent menu tab (device settings) and indeed could change Duplex to installed.
From that moment on, my Windows driver showed that I do have auto duplex again.
Then when I tested, the printer complained I had to put load Letter paper format in Tray 2, whereas in ALL settings, including on the printer (I am working in Netherlands) it showed A4 format.
I nearly threw the printer out of the window? Why does this happen? Is anyone in Netherlands doing quality checks for these expensive printers?
Anyway, as a last resort i did default settings reset on the printer. Then finally i got back my earlier automatic duplex printing. But now my printer menu is again in English.
Anyway, I am giving up the fight for now and leaving things in this modus. What has happened to the simplicity of printing and the quality of HP printers (am old IT guy).

Just to respond to the comment about Windows 11. Depending on which driver you have installed in Windows 11 the device settings tab is identical. Even the latest Smart UPD driver still has the classic device settings tab, The difference is that in Windows 11 you need to right click the devices and printers icon and select open. Double clicking on the devices and printers icon causes the new Windows 11 style setup to open. Some Officejet printer drivers are different but the HP video referenced shows the screens common on some Officejet style products.

The first post by Repairatrooper is correct, just the navigation has changed for Windows 11. It's
Settings>Bluetooth & devices>Printers & scanners>{your printer]>Printer properties. Under the Device Settings tab, you should see Duplex Unit, which you can set to install then Apply, assuming your printer supports this in some way.

I see that duplex is not installed but I can't change this. The other option is grayed out. I thought I updated my printer driver for my HP MFP M277dw. Which driver should I be using?
