- HP DeskJet 4200e - Error code EBS00P0010 - Wi‑Fi Connection ...
Common reasons the printer cannot connect to Wi‑Fi
- The printer cannot find a wireless signal.
- The network signal is weak or unstable.
- The printer is too far from or too close to the router.
- A firewall or VPN on the computer blocks communication.
- The wrong network name or wireless password was entered.
- The router or printer needs a restart.
- The printer may need updated firmware.
Troubleshooting steps
1) Wait and check the wireless status
If the wireless light is blinking, the printer may still be trying to connect. Wait a few minutes and check again. If it still does not connect, continue troubleshooting.
Blinking wireless light often means the printer is attempting to connect but cannot complete the connection.
2) Check wireless signal and placement
Make sure:
- The network is active
- The signal is strong enough
- The printer is not too far from the router
- The printer is not too close to the router
HP recommends keeping the printer about 1.0 to 1.5 meters (3 to 5 feet) from the router.
Weak signal and interference are common causes of failed wireless setup.
3) Restart the network and printer
Turn off and then turn back on in this order:
- Router
- Printer
- Computer or mobile device
Power cycling can recover a network communication issue.
4) Confirm the correct network and password
If you are setting up Wi‑Fi again:
- Make sure the printer is connecting to the correct SSID
- Re-enter the wireless password carefully
An incorrect network name or password is a common setup issue.
5) Check for firewall or VPN interference
On the computer used for setup:
- Temporarily disconnect any VPN
- Check whether firewall/security software is blocking printer communication
VPNs and firewalls can prevent printers from accessing the computer and wireless network.
6) Reconnect the printer to the network
Use the printer’s wireless setup process again. If setup does not complete, try setup from the HP software flow for Wi‑Fi/network connection.
Reconnecting the printer to the network is the next step when the wireless light keeps blinking.
7) Update printer firmware
Update the printer firmware from HP Software and Driver Downloads by searching for your printer model.
Firmware updates, and updated firmware is also the resolution listed in HP security guidance for affected DeskJet 4200 series products.
