Error OXB922D50C is typically a hardware-level power or firmware initialization failure. Because the printer is not switching on, the issue is most likely related to:

  • Power supply interruption (adapter, cable, or outlet)
  • Internal power module or logic board fault
  • Firmware corruption due to abrupt shutdown or power surge
  • Residual electrical charge preventing startup

Troubleshooting Steps

Perform a Hard Power Reset

  1. Disconnect the power cable from the printer.
  2. Unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  4. Press and hold the Power button for 15–20 seconds (while unplugged).
  5. Plug the power cable directly into a wall socket (no extension/surge protector).
  6. Try turning ON the printer.

This helps:

  • Clears residual electrical charge stored in internal capacitors.
  • Resets the printer’s power management circuit.
  • Helps recover from firmware lock or power glitches.

Check Power Source and Cable

  • Try a different wall outlet.
  • Avoid extension cords or power strips.
  • Inspect the power adapter and cord for:
    • Cuts, burns, loose connections
  • If available, test with a compatible HP power adapter.

This helps:

  • Faulty or unstable power supply can trigger power initialization errors.
  • Printers are sensitive to voltage fluctuations, which can lead to startup failure.

Observe Any LED or Partial Response

  • Does any light blink when you press Power?
  • Any movement or faint sound?
  • Helps identify:
    • Partial power → firmware or board issue
    • No response → power module failure

Remove External Loads

  1. Disconnect USB cable / Wi-Fi setup devices.
  2. Remove all cartridges.
  3. Remove any jammed paper.
  4. Try powering ON again.

This helps:

  • Faulty cartridges or internal short circuits can prevent startup.
  • Reduces load on power distribution system.

Try Power Button Reset Sequence

  1. Press and hold Power button.
  2. While holding, plug in the power cable.
  3. Continue holding for 10–15 seconds, then release.

This helps:

  • Forces a low-level hardware reset.
  • Can bypass minor firmware freeze conditions.

Check Adapter Output (Advanced)

  • Use a multimeter (if available) to check voltage output of adapter.

This helps:

  • Confirms if the adapter is delivering correct voltage.
  • Low or no output = adapter failure.

Inspect for Internal Damage (Visual Only)

  • Burn smell
  • Heat marks
  • Loose power port

This helps:

  • Indicates internal circuit board or power supply failure, common with this error if unit is completely dead.

Suspect Hardware Failure

If ALL the above steps fail and:

  • No lights, no sound, no movement
  • Adapter is working fine
  • Printer remains completely unresponsive

 Then the issue is likely:

  • Internal power supply unit (PSU) failure
  • Formatter board (motherboard) damage
