If you want to enlarge or reduce a document to a specific percentage, such as 150%, when making copies on the HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf mfp increase size. The printer provides a Reduce/Enlarge Custom option with a range of 25%–400%.
The custom copy percentage is configured through the printer's control panel. It is separate from the print-scaling settings available on a computer running macOS 10.14 Mojave.
Common reasons a user may have difficulty selecting the desired size include:
The printer is not in Copy mode.
The Reduce/Enlarge menu has not been selected.
The custom percentage is being adjusted incorrectly.
The selected paper size is too small for the enlarged copy.
The user is trying to configure the copy percentage from macOS instead of the printer control panel.
Troubleshooting steps
Set a Custom Copy Size
Turn on the HP LaserJet Pro M1536 and wait until it displays Ready.
Place the original document:
Face down on the scanner glass, or
Face up in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
Press Copy on the printer control panel.
Open Copy Settings or More Copy Settings.
Select Reduce/Enlarge.
Select Custom: 25%-400%.
Use the printer's navigation/arrow buttons to adjust the percentage.
Set the value to 150%.
Press OK/Enter to confirm.
Press Start Copy.
If the Enlarged Copy Is Cut Off
A 150% enlargement may be larger than the available printable area.
Check the paper size loaded in the printer.
Verify that the correct paper size is selected in the copy settings.
Try a larger paper size if available.
If necessary, reduce the enlargement percentage.
Make another test copy.
If the Custom Percentage Cannot Be Changed
Confirm that Custom: 25%-400% is selected.
Use the printer's control-panel navigation buttons to change the value.
Press OK/Enter after selecting the desired percentage.
Cancel the current copy job and try again.
Restart the printer if the control panel does not respond.
Try setting the custom percentage again after the printer returns to Ready.
If the Setting Returns to 100%
The custom percentage may be a temporary setting for the current copy job.
Check the printer's copy setup options for a default Reduce/Enlarge setting if you want a particular percentage to be used as the default.
Note: for macOS 10.14 Mojave
The copy enlargement setting is handled by the printer when making a standalone copy. You do not need macOS to set the copy percentage.
If the user is printing a document from a Mac rather than making a standalone copy, the scaling must be configured through the macOS print settings and is a separate issue.
