The printer displays Error Code C9C60006 on a blue screen, preventing normal printer operation and requiring troubleshooting to restore printer functionality.

Troubleshooting Steps

1: Perform a Power Reset

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Check whether the error code reappears.

2: Check for Printer Firmware Updates

Outdated firmware can cause unexpected system errors.

  • Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) or HP support page.
  • Verify that the printer is running the latest firmware version available for the LaserJet Pro MFP 4101 series.
  • Install any available firmware updates.
  • Restart the printer after the update completes.

3: Restore Factory Defaults

If the printer boots successfully:

  • Open the printer control panel menus.
  • Navigate to Settings or Service.
  • Select Restore Factory Settings.
  • Allow the printer to restart.

Reconfigure network and printer settings after the reset.

4: Verify Hardware Connections

  • Disconnect USB, Ethernet, and any external devices connected to the printer.
  • Restart the printer using only the power cable connected.
  • Observe whether the error returns.
  • Reconnect devices one at a time to identify a possible communication issue.

5: Run HP Diagnostic Tools

Use the troubleshooting and diagnostic resources available for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101 series.

  • Visit the product support page.
  • Open Tools & Diagnostics.
  • Run any available printer diagnostics.
  • Apply any recommended fixes.

6: Check for Hardware Failure

If the printer continually displays C9C60006 immediately after startup and the error persists after:

  • Power reset
  • Firmware update
  • Factory reset

The issue may be related to an internal printer component requiring service.
