HP OfficeJet Pro printers may display Error Code B8093B62 on the printer control panel when attempting to scan. The printer may continue to print normally, but scanning functions can fail, and the display may show a blue error screen or become unresponsive. This issue has been reported on models such as the HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e, 8028e, 9015e, and related OfficeJet Pro series printers.

- Scanner fails to complete scan jobs.
- Printer display turns blue or freezes during scanning.
- Printing functions continue to work normally.
- The printer may become unresponsive until power is disconnected.
Troubleshooting Steps
1: Perform a Printer Reset (Power Drain)
- Turn the printer on.
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer and wall outlet.
- Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
- Wait approximately 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet.
- Reinstall the cartridges.
- Turn on the printer and test scanning.
2: Update the Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause scanning and device communication issues.
- Open the HP App.
- Check for available printer firmware updates.
- Install any available updates.
- Restart the printer after the firmware update completes.
3: Reinstall the Printer Software
- Uninstall the existing printer software and drivers from the computer.
- Restart the computer.
- Download and install the latest printer software using the HP App.
- Complete printer setup and test scanning again.
4: Check Scanner Functionality
If the error continues:
- Open the scanner lid.
- Initiate a copy job.
- Observe the scanner bar.
- Verify that the scanner light turns on and travels across the scanner glass.
If the scanner light does not illuminate or move correctly, the scanner hardware may require service.
5: Set Up the Printer Again Using the HP App
- Remove the printer from Printers & Scanners.
- Download or open the HP App.
- Re-add the printer.
- Follow the guided setup instructions.
- Verify that scanning functions operate normally.
