- HP Smart Tank 530: Troubleshooting for Error OXC4EB02FF
The OXC4EB02FF error on the HP Smart Tank 530 Wireless All-in-One is commonly linked to a printhead, carriage, ink flow, or internal hardware initialization issue. The printer may freeze during startup, stop printing, or display blinking lights along with the error code. Also associate similar Smart Tank errors with carriage jams, air in ink lines, or improperly seated printheads.
Possible reasons
- Printer is in an error state
- Printhead issue or printhead needs attention
- Ink tank low or empty
- Paper mismatch, out of paper, or paper jam
- Scanner-related issue
- Temporary internal printer fault requiring a reset
Troubleshooting steps

Reset the printer
- Turn the printer on.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and plug it directly into a wall outlet.

Check ink levels
- On Smart Tank 530 models with touchscreen, touch the Ink icon to view estimated ink levels.
- Refill any low or empty tanks if needed.

Inspect for printhead issues
- Open the front door and printhead access door.
- Wait until the carriage stops moving.
- If the printer indicates a printhead issue, open the latch and check whether any protective tape or plugs remain on the printhead.
- Reinsert the printhead carefully if needed.
- Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles.

Replace the printhead only if instructed
- The printheads should be replaced only when instructed by error messages on the printer software, control panel, or HP app.
- If replacement is required, use an HP authorized repair center or service partner.

Check paper path and paper settings
- Make sure paper is loaded correctly.
- Remove any jammed paper.
- Ensure the loaded paper size matches the print settings.

Print a diagnostic or status report from the touchscreen On the Smart Tank 530:
- Swipe left on the control panel, then touch Setup
- Touch Tools
- Print one or more of these reports:
- Printer Status Report
- Network Configuration Report
- Print Quality Report
- Web Access Report

If alignment is requested
- Follow the control panel prompts to print an Alignment page
- Scan the page as instructed to complete printhead alignment

Restart scan or print jobs
- If the issue happened during scanning, restart the printer and try scanning again.
- If it happened during printing, cancel the current job and resend it.
