Setting Up HP LaserJet Pro M102w Printer


To install and set up the HP LaserJet Pro M102w printer for the first time, follow these detailed steps.



1. Remove the Printer from the Box

  • Unbox Printer: Remove the printer from the box. Take out all tape, stickers, and packing materials from the printer.

  • Inspect Contents: The contents may vary by region; check the packaging for a complete list of included items.


2. Install the Input Tray Dust-Cover

  • Prepare the Tray: Extend the paper length guide in the input tray to its maximum extent.

  • Fix Dust-Cover: Remove the dust-cover, extend its sides, and align the hinge pins with the slots in the tray area. Snap it into place securely.

3. Load Paper into the Input Tray

  • Open Dust-Cover: Lift the dust-cover of the input tray.

  • Adjust Paper Guides: Slide the guides to their maximum width and load paper with the print side facing up.

  • Slide Guides: Adjust the paper guides to rest against the paper stack, then carefully lower the dust-cover.

4. Connect the Power Cord

  • Connect Power: Attach the power cord to the back of the printer and plug it into a wall outlet. Do not connect the USB cable at this stage.

  • Turn On Printer: Power on the printer by pressing the power button.

5. Install the Printer Software

  • Download Software: Navigate to 123.hp.com to download the HP printer software. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.

  • USB Connection Prompt: Connect the USB cable to your computer and printer when prompted during the software installation.
