The following video shows how to locate and clean debris from scanner glass. This video is titled for a couple of models, but this information is applicable to most scanning products that have an ADF.

HP has determined that 99% of all lines and streaks on copies made by feeding the original documents through the ADF are caused by debris on the ADF glass. Debris can include dust, paper or toner dust, residue from sticky note adhesive, correction fluid or tape, ink, fingerprints, and more.

Will

The line appears to be similar to a guide line and is showing exactly in the center of the page. This happens when using the ADF only. A thorough cleaning and inspection has not resolved the issue.

@dnxrep - inspect the area in the center of the ADF glass and clean this thoroughly (since the line is in the center of the page). It is nearly certain your issue is caused by a small spec on the ADF glass.
Be sure to watch the video, especially the part about 2:50 in that shows how to line the paper up to point right at the spot of debris.

I went through the process and it didn't work. The line is right down the middle and very consistent with 1 page copy. If I do 2-sided copy it's only on the top of page and not the back.

The debris is on the underside of the glass causing the black lines and I can't find any information on how one takes the glass off to clean the underside. I'm just going to start unscrewing things and see what happens.
