- Printing Photographs with an HP printer
How to print photographs is a question I often see posted. HP recently released a document that contains some great information that might help you to get your photos printed the way you want them printed. Article covers loading paper, tips on editing photographs to get best results and settings that can make your prints look better, such as always choosing the highest resolution or best quality mode when printing photographs.

I wanted to add some samples to demonstrate the challenge that printing photographs sometimes presents. The two pictures below were printed from the same original file, using default drivers settings and printed on the same printer. Notice how the first picture, printed from Microsoft's Windows 11 default photo app and the second picture was printed by opening the file in a program called FastStone Capture. The first picture has noticeable areas of banding and does not orient the picture properly in the frame. The purpose of showing this is so that those with printing problems understand that more often than not, unexpected output has nothing to do with the printer and everything to do with the program used to print the photo.

About to lose her mind Grandmother here. I have a HP Envy 6255 and have a problem with photo printouts. It will print a photo on plain paper but will not print the whole photo on photo paper. It starts printing, prints about 2 inches and stops then spits the paper out. I'm pretty sure after spending 2 weekends trying to figure it out
that there is a problem with the software. I can't get a straight answer from HP support no matter what I try. Today it tells me I should contact them Monday thru Friday during office hours. Who knew they don't have support people there on weekends! I am on a MacOS-Sequoia 15.0. Never had a problem with the printer during 3 to 4 years of use. Seems the problem started after a computer software upgrade. In my printing list it says there was a "Filter" failed. Can't put everything I have tried to fix the problem on here. I have been so frustrated I vowed to never buy another HP printer again! I love this printer and can't imagine using a different brand. Never say never! Surely there is someone out there who had this happen to them and I would be forever grateful to know how they fixed it!!
