Sticky solenoid is a problems on the paper tray pickup assembly, The solenoid sometimes get sticky and printer feeds additional sheet and then reports jam.
To verify run paper path test in simplex. When a jam occurs check if there is a blank sheet of paper somewhere in the printer. If so then it's sticky solenoid. Swapping the solenoid will resolve the problem.
This problem applies to the following models:
- LJ 3035
- LJ 4250

All the videos and most of the comments deal with the tray 2 solenoid. Been there and fixed that. Now it is tray one that is pulling in half a page after a print job. Very little information on how to get to tray 1 solenoid. The only thing I have found is a statement, "You'll need to remove the tray 1 pickup assembly to get at it." Well, I have almost broken the printer attempting to find the tray 1 solenoid. Can someone PLEASE give me step by step on how and where, or better yet post a video? Thanks in advance.
