People often ask about toner usage, why they did not get as many pages as the rating, or perhaps got more. I found this HP article that explains some of the things that can affect how long your toner cartridge lasts. Most often page yield of cartridge and lifespan of printer are based on  the assumption that each print job will be around 10 pages. Shorter jobs reduce overall page yield due to wear of components in the printing system.
