Error Code 59.C0 on the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw typically indicates an issue with the printer's internal drive mechanism, transfer system, or a toner cartridge. the error appears shortly after a toner cartridge has been installed or replaced, especially if the cartridge is not seated correctly or is defective.

 

Troubleshooting steps:

1.Hard Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • If it refuses to turn off, unplug the power cord directly from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the other end of the cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors) and turn the printer on.

2.Remove and reinstall the replaced cartridge

  • Open the front door.
  • Pull out the toner cartridge drawer using the blue handle.
  • Remove the toner cartridge.
  • Reinsert it carefully, making sure the color chip on the cartridge matches the color chip on the drawer.
  • Push the drawer back in and close the front door.

3.Inspect the cartridge

  • Confirm all packaging materials and sealing tape were removed.
  • Check the cartridge memory chip for damage.
  • Slide back the cartridge cover and inspect the imaging drum.
  • Do not touch the imaging drum, The fingerprints can cause print-quality problems. 
  • If the drum is scratched or damaged, replace the cartridge.

4.Gently Shake the Toner Cartridge

  • Hold the toner cartridge firmly by both ends and gently move it from side to side several times to help redistribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.

 

5.Use genuine HP toner

  • HP recommends to use genuine HP toners, non-HP or refilled cartridges might cause reliability or quality issues, and troubleshooting steps might not resolve the problem.

6.Check toner status

  • On touchscreen models, from the Home screen, touch the supplies icon and review toner cartridge status.

7.If print quality is affected, print a cleaning page

  • From the Home screen, touch Setup > Service > Cleaning Page.
  • Load plain white paper when prompted and start the cleaning process.

 

Reasons 

  • Wrong cartridge model installed
  • Cartridge from the wrong region/zone
  • Cartridge not fully seated
  • Packaging or sealing material not fully removed
  • Damaged cartridge memory chip
  • Damaged or touched imaging drum
  • Non-HP or refilled cartridge
