HP Smart Tank, 67x, 600x, 72x, 700x, 75x, 730x series printers
Use this workaround when all control panel lights and icons are blinking, or when error code 024A493F is displayed on the control panel.
HP Smart Tank, 69x, 760x series printers
Work around when 024A493F displays on the control panel display.

Check if the printer has gone through multiple power cycles (>7x) within 30 minutes prior to this state. This also includes pressing the Power button or plugging and unplugging the power cord.

If yes, request the user to turn off the printer. Wait for 30 minutes before turning on the printer to recover.

If no, proceed with normal troubleshooting steps.
Troubleshooting steps

Check the printer display or HP app
- For HP Smart Tank 790/7600 series, an amber status light indicates an error.
- Checking the printer display or HP app for troubleshooting information.

Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and printer.
- Turn on the printer.

Check for paper feed issues
- Remove and reload paper.
- Remove bent, torn, or wrinkled sheets.
- Make sure the paper guides are snug against the paper.
- Confirm the paper size/type settings match in the printer software or HP App.

Clean the paper rollers
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the input and output trays.
- Clean the pickup rollers with a lightly dampened lint-free cloth or swab using distilled, filtered, or bottled water.
- Let the rollers dry 10 to 15 minutes before reconnecting power.

Check print quality / ink system if printing is affected
- On the touchscreen, go to Menu > Tools > Troubleshooting > Print Quality.
- Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page.
- If defects appear, run Clean Printhead.
- Then run Align Printhead if needed.
- Refill any low ink tanks.
