If your HP Officejet 5610 printer is showing that it is printing but nothing happens, the issue may be due to a variety of factors such as connectivity, driver problems, or printer settings.

Here are detailed troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Check Printer Connectivity

  1. USB Connection: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer. Try using a different USB port or cable if available.
  2. Network Connection: If the printer is connected to the network, ensure that the network is active and the printer is connected to the network.

Restart Devices

  1. Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it, wait for 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.
  2. Restart the Computer: Restart your computer to refresh the connection between the printer and the computer.

Check Printer Status

  1. Queue Status: Go to Devices and Printers on your computer, right-click on your HP Officejet 5610, and select See what's printing. Make sure there are no stuck print jobs. If there are, right-click the job and cancel it.
  2. Set as Default: Ensure that your HP Officejet 5610 is set as the default printer.

Update Printer Drivers

  1. Update Drivers: Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your HP Officejet 5610 printer compatible with your Windows 7 (64-bit) system. Install the drivers and check if the issue persists.

Check Printer for Errors

  1. Error Messages: Check for any error messages on the printer's display. Refer to the printer manual for solutions to specific error codes.

Run HP App

  1. HP App Download and run the Hp App tool. It can automatically diagnose and fix printing and scanning problems.

Inspect Print Settings

  1. Print in Queue: Ensure that the file you are trying to print is not paused or on hold.
  2. Paper and Ink Levels: Check if your printer has enough paper loaded and that the ink cartridges are not empty or dried out.

Reinstall Printer Software

  1. Uninstall Software: Completely uninstall the existing printer software from your computer.
  2. Reinstall Software: Reinstall using the software  with the printer or download the latest software from the HP website.
