Hi @GSD6,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Troubleshooting printer alignment issues can be frustrating, but let's try to resolve this. Here are some steps you can follow.

  • Check Paper Alignment: Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the input tray and that it's aligned properly. Improperly aligned paper can cause alignment issues.
  • Clean Printer Heads: If the printer heads are dirty or clogged, it can affect the alignment process. Most printers have a cleaning utility that you can access through the printer's settings menu.
  • Print a Diagnostic Page: Many printers have a diagnostic or alignment page that you can print to check the alignment. Look for instructions in the printer's manual on how to print a diagnostic page.
  • Manual Alignment: Some printers allow you to manually align the print heads. This usually involves printing a test page and selecting the most aligned pattern.
  • Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes, simply restarting both the printer and your computer can resolve minor issues.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can usually find the latest drivers on the HP website.
  • Reset Printer: If nothing else works, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. This should be done as a last resort, as it will erase any custom settings you have configured.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
