HP Photosmart 7520 e all in one printer

I keep getting missing printhead or failed printhead.  I cleaned my original printhead.  I have replaced with 2 new printheads and nothing works.  I even removed all the HP software and drivers/firmware and reinstalled.  Still get the same problem.  My printer is less than 6 years old and I would hate to have to replace it since it is still in great shape.  I also notice that it is depleting my ink cartridges according to the ink levels.  If nothing has been printed, then where is the ink level going?  This is getting expensive.
