I have replaced both ink cartridges, cleaned the ink contacts, unplugged my printer... and the error code E0 still happens.  Coincidentally,  I just cancelled my HP ink membership.  How do I get this error fixed?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. An E0 error indicates an unusable cartridge. This condition occurs when at least one ink cartridge needs attention, is faulty, incorrect, missing, damaged, or incompatible. Reseat both ink cartridges, clean the ink cartridge contacts, restart the printer, and replace one or both ink cartridges if necessary.

I purchased new cartridges after I kept getting the "E0" error. Once I placed them in, reset my printer, and cleaned the area where the cartridges go, I STILL got the errors.  Of course my 1 year warranty is up by 60 days and I just so happened to cancel my instant ink account and my printer quit working.

That's unfortunate.

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06570371 refer to the Error Codes on the control panel.

And, also this article: Cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink” message By the end of the article you will be able to isolate the issue.
