HP ENVY 5032
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am unable to print from my HP ENVY 5032 using my laptop - after attempting to print, a simple error message arrives on my desktop saying the printer has been unable to print (after multiple attempt it leaves me with message that the printer is in an 'error state').

I have then removed the printer from 'Printers & Scanners' and deleted all traces of previous drivers (Win+R - 'printui.exe /s' as well as checking spooling etc.). However, when re-downloading  the full feature driver (HP Smart), the driver doesn't seem to reinstall correctly and eventually leads to the addition beneath the printer name (in 'Printers & Scanners') of 'Driver is unavailable'.

I then delete all traces of the drivers again, plus linked software, and unplug & restart laptop, printer and wireless hub. All this leads me in circles, and I don't know what else to try.

As I have said, I can print from other devices using the same printer and wireless connection, so there must be an issue with my laptop.

@LBDADA, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to print from your computer. This seems like a driver issue.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Use the HP Smart app to print and scan from your Win 10 PC

Click here to download and know more about the app.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
