Hi ,

I have issues with a PDF document (34 pages).

Problem No 1)

The printer is stopping / interrupting th epage print on i.e. page 2 of a 4 page printing job.

Blank page following the interrupted page.

Its wasting pages and my instant ink page counter is counting down....

That is far from sustainable...

Problem 2)

A blue banner appearing on the PDF is streaking to red. Although a test page shows good results and cartridge ink levels a at minimum 30%.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Joerg

PS: This forum software/server seems to be very slow and usability / getting an overview is quite difficult imho.

Hi

Thank You for contacting HP.

As I understand you have problems printing PDF documents, do not worry I will help you with the same.

Please try the steps below:-

1) Print As Image

Open the PDF File.

Click on File Print.

Click on Advanced.

Select the check box "Print as Image"

Then try to print and check the results.

2) Use a PCL/PCL3/PCL6 driver. Add PCL Drivers and print from that.

For adding the printer on USB

1) Go to Control Panel > Printers.

2) Click on Add a Printer.

3) Click on "The printer that I want isn't listed".

4) Choose the option "add a local printer or network [printer with manual settings" > next

5) Select the ports use existing port > USB001/USB002.>next.

6) Choose HP from the Manufacturers list. then choose the HP officejet pro 6970 series PCL3/PCL6..

7)Click next> choose "replace the existing drivers"> next

😎 keep clicking next and finish.

9) Try printing and check.

For Network printer add the printer with the below steps.

1) Go to Control Panel > Printers.

2) Click on Add a Printer.

3) Click on "The printer that I want isn't listed".

4) Choose the option "add a printer using TCP/IP address" > next.

5) Device Type as "Standard TCP/IP printer > Enter the IP address. >next

6) Choose HP from the Manufacturers list. then choose the HP officejet pro 6970 series PCL3/PCL6.

7)Click next> choose "replace the existing drivers"> next

😎 keep clicking next and finish.

9) Try printing and check.

Once  the printer is added try the below workaround.

WORKAROUND 1

1.Open Devices and Printers, right-click the printer, and then select Printing Preferences.

2.Click the Advanced tab, and from the Print Data Optimization drop-down, select Optimize for Raster.

3.Click Apply and click OK.

Now print and check.

WORKAROUND 2

1.Open Devices and Printers, right-click the printer, and then select Printing Preferences.

2.Click the Advanced tab, and then under Printer Features, enable the Send TrueType as Bitmap option.

3.Click Apply and click OK.

Now print and check.

A new issue came up.

I want to solve this 1st.

Testpage 1 from Print doctor (HP software) shows problems with blue & black color bars at the light end.

Testpage 2 from the printer has no such 'light color' indication and the Page looks fine.

Testpage 3 from the network printer page shows dark to light tapered colour bars with ALL FINE!!

(if this forum would allow picture upload I can scan all these print outs here and show them)

This seems a driver/software issue isn't it???

My printer is wireless connected and reachable via local IP address.

4 year old printer.

Hi,

How is a normal print from the PC?

Did you try a Word or a PDF print or any JPEG or PNG Image printing in color and black both?

How did they print?

This could be due to clogged Printheads on the cartridges or due to low on ink cartridges.

1) Please check the Ink Level of the Cartridges to ensure they are all proper and have ink.

On the Printer display, on the Home Screen, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the
Dashboard, and then touch (Ink) to check the estimated ink levels.

Any ink which is too low or Out of Ink, need to be replaced.

2) Clean the Copper Contacts on the Ink Cartridges.

While the unit is On, take the cartridges out one at a time.

Place the cartridge on a paper towel which you may discard later.

Observe the Golden contacts on the printer.

Clean the copper contacts using lint free cloth and clear water.

3) Do an Automated Cleaning.

On the Printer Home Screen, Click on the Set Up Icon > Printer Maintenance > Clean the Printhead > Continue.

Again go to Set Up Icon > Printer Maintenance > Clean Smear> Let it complete.

Now try printing and copying and check the results.

Ok,

the blue ink channels are clean.

1) I pulled all ink cartridges.

2) I interrupted the power supply so the print head stays in the middle

3) I moved the print head to the left and put a tissue (lint free below)

4) I covered all colours except the blue and blew in (through a tissue piece to reduce the air speed) with a contact cleaner spray.

5) I had released blue ink on my tissue- so the ink channels seem to be free.

6) I removed all tissues which I used to cover the 'good' colours and removed the tissue below printer head. Then I installed all cartridges, moved the head into the standard position for cartridge change and switched the printer on.

7) Next cleaning procedure of printhead shows again NO BLUE colour. So it seems it is an electronic issue.

I used  WÜRTH CONTACT SPRAY Art.:0890 100.

Jörg
