Hello All. I have a HP Deskjet 2820e that is no more than 2 years old and in that time has been used very little.

Recently the printer ( whenever it is powered on) keeps printing the test page even though the cartridges have previously been aligned etc etc..Is there a way to stop this happening?

@Taylo63, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP Deskjet 2820e keeps printing test pages every time you power it on, even after aligning the cartridges, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Reinstall the Print Driver:

  • Sometimes, drivers can become corrupted and reinstalling them can help resolve unexpected behavior.
  • Go to the HP Support page and download the latest driver for your HP Deskjet 2820e model.

Check Printer Status:

  • Make sure there are no active print jobs or errors shown on your printer's display screen.
  • Check your printer's control panel or your computer for any error messages that might indicate the source of the issue.

Remove and Reinsert Cartridges:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the access door and carefully remove the cartridges.
  • Reinsert the cartridges, ensuring they are properly seated, and close the access door.
  • Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and check if the issue persists.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware version installed, as updates might fix known issues.
  • This can typically be done through the HP Smart app or directly from the printer’s support webpage.

Perform a Factory Reset:

  • Sometimes performing a factory reset can help resolve persistent issues, but note that this will restore the printer to its default settings.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
