Hi @2002Ranger ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the ink cartridge explosion in your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 printer. Dealing with ink spills inside a printer can be messy,

Here are some steps you can take to clean it up:

  • Turn off the printer: Before you start cleaning, make sure to turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source to prevent any electrical hazards.
  • Open the printer cover: Open the printer cover to access the inside of the printer where the ink cartridge exploded. Be careful not to touch any electrical components inside the printer.
  • Remove any visible ink: Use a lint-free cloth or paper towel to carefully blot up any excess ink that you can see. Avoid rubbing the ink as it may spread further.
  • Remove the ink cartridges: Carefully remove any remaining ink cartridges from the printer. Be cautious as some ink may have leaked onto the cartridge contacts or inside the cartridge bay.
  • Clean the cartridge bay: Use a damp lint-free cloth or cotton swab to gently clean the cartridge bay where the exploded cartridge was located. Be careful not to leave any cotton fibers behind.
  • Check for ink residue: Inspect the inside of the printer for any ink residue or splatters. Clean any remaining ink using a damp cloth or cotton swab.
  • Allow time to dry: After cleaning, allow the inside of the printer to air dry completely before reinstalling the ink cartridges and closing the printer cover.
  • Reinstall ink cartridges: Once the inside of the printer is clean and dry, carefully reinstall the ink cartridges into their respective slots.
  • Test the printer: Plug in the printer, turn it on, and perform a test print to ensure that the printer is working properly and there are no issues with print quality.
