Hi @AlistairReay,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Connections: Make sure that your printer and your computer or mobile device are connected to the same network. Ensure there are no connectivity issues.

HP Smart App: Try using the HP Smart app to scan. If you don’t have it, download the HP Smart app from your respective app store or by visiting 123.hp.com. Ensure your printer and the app are set up correctly.

Restart Devices: Reboot your printer, computer or mobile device to refresh their network connections and clear any temporary glitches.

Update Printer Software: Ensure that your printer’s software and drivers are up to date. Visit the HP support site to download the latest drivers for your printer model if necessary.

Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Check your firewall or antivirus settings on your computer, as they might be blocking the scanning function.

Use the Printer Control Panel: Attempt to scan directly from the printer’s control panel, ensuring that all settings are correctly configured for a scan to your computer or preferred destination.

Scan to Email/Cloud: Check alternative scanning methods such as scanning to email or cloud storage if scanning directly to files does not work.

Troubleshoot with HP Print and Scan Doctor: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning issues.

I hope this helps.
