HP OfficeJet 3830 All in one
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Three or four days ago my HP OfficeJet 3830 started spitting out blank or partially printed pages.  I have tried everything from shutting the printer down and searching online for a solution.  I am running macOS 10.15.1 Catalina.  The printer is out of warranty, of course, so I am asking for help here.

I understand you are having issues printing from your HP Officejet 3830 printer. We will first isolate the issue and then try to resolve it-

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic page, and then evaluate the results.

  1. Load plain paper into the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

  3. Touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report.

If the results appear fine, try to remove and add the printer.

 

Also, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates.
